About the Pageant Founder/Director
Annette Gonzalez-Sibert
Annette Gonzalez is a Florida Gulf Coast University Graduate.
Although a young woman in years, she is wise at heart; a true leader.
This young lady overcame many obstacles in her life, evolving into an independent achiever.
The Art of Dance... is definitely another one of her life's passions, she is an accomplished dance teacher and choreographer; a tool she has used in her pageant productions, and in organizing many sweet fifteen-sweet sixteen coordinations in SW Florida. Her bright smile has won the hearts of many, and her persuasive business, and customer oriented service skills give her an added advantage in all her endeavors. The completion of her education and her natural patience with young children are assets which she now puts to good use as Unit Director of the Pueblo Bonito
Boys & Girls Club of Lee County.
Annette is a talented business woman who continues to bring to SW Florida her pageant idea... once her FGCU University Project, and now a proven track record, and a measure of her consistency .
Her excellent marketing skills combined with her positive business outlook, creative flair, enthusiasm and perseverance are crucial to continue the production of this pageant for our young girls.
Her vision, her dream, her goal...is to bring social skills and educational opportunities to the Latina women of tomorrow.
Annette... now Mrs. Annette Gonzalez-Sibert is a proud mother of a beautiful baby boy, and enjoys living on this "Paradise Coast" which we all like to call home.
Why I Created this Event?
Five years ago I sat in a class at FGCU thinking about what I can do for my senior thesis project. The more I thought about it the more I wanted to make a change in our community. That was where the Miss Hispanic Gulf Coast beauty pageant was born. As we celebrate the 5th Annual Miss Hispanic Gulf Coast Pageant, we ask for your support. Please keep in mind how this grassroots effort became more than a class project. It has become the vehicle that has helped many young Latinas in our community build self-esteem and confidence while changing the beauty and cultural stereotypes in our community. This project has provided the tools needed to help all the participants become positive role models to others, pursue their dreams, and succeed in life.
Our past 2008 Pageant was held on Saturday, November 15th, at the Bonita Springs YMCA which hosted it's first Fall Family Festival from 10 am to 5 pm with an attendance of 3000 to 5000 visitors.
The 5th Annual Miss Hispanic Gulf Coast Pageant was kindly hosted by the Bonita Springs YMCA from 6 pm to 9 pm after the Festival. This collaboration assured the success of both events, the Fall Family Festival and the 5th Annual Miss Hispanic Gulf Coast. We thank the YMCA at The Palms for their support.
